DBC is all about unity and community! Each spring we give away 100 baby hop rhizome starters to Denverites to grow in their backyards. Each farmer cultivates the hops with water, sunshine, and little love throughout the summer season. Now that the hops have matured, Hop Swap participants bring their hop harvest back to the brewery where they are used in a true “local” brew. Why do we love this event? Creating a true community-grown beer with hops from Denver gardens is the highlight of our year. The flavor of the beer is nuanced to reflect the conditions of the particular Denver summer and the unique Denver farmers who care for the hops.
