South Downing 5 Course Beer Dinner

We are thrilled to offer a curated food menu that has been thoughtfully paired with some of our specialty small batch brews and house favorites. Limited tickets for this intimate experience are available for purchase for $65 each. You will receive 6 beers paired with a plated 5 course dinner presented by our Denver Beer Co Director of Innovation, Andy Parker, and DBC and Yum Yum’s Ice Cream chef Michael Ruiz.  We will welcome you with a beer at 5:45 with the first course served promptly at 6pm. Can’t wait to see you for this special event!

Details:

Intro beer:
Kellerpils (crisp unfiltered blonde lager, 5%abv)

Course 1:
Tomato Sorbet, red onion with Ciliegane and basil oil
Throwin’ Haze (5.8% abv)
Throwin’ is somewhat tropical, hint of pine, and a light bitterness. Moderately complex for a Hazy IPA

Course 2:
Duck Confit, Sweet potato “risotto,”  coffee fig jam and pomegranate seeds
Woodland Brunch (5.1% abv)
Slightly tart beer with wild-harvested spruce tips and orange peel. Dry, herbal. The spruce tips are at a lighter level than our spruce IPAs, so it presents more as a cantaloupe or honeydew with a hint of pine. I think it will balance the light sweetness from the sweet potato and fig jam.

Course 3:
Gnocchi with wild mushroom ragout and herbed house made ricotta
Finsta Nordic Farmhouse (10% abv)
This is a big beer that tastes like we put pineapple, mango, and lemon in it, but the only adjunct is some wild harvested juniper branches. Finishes very dry, so I see it as a good counterpoint to how substantial gnocchi can be and how earthy mushrooms can be.

Palate Cleanser
Grapefruit Sorbet by Yum Yum’s Ice Cream

Course 4
Pork Osso Bucco with Herbed goat cheese polenta croquettes
Double Edged Sword – Imperial Pilsner (8.3% abv)
Flavorful, but smooth and strong enough to refresh while allowing the rich Osso Bucco flavors to shine

Course 5
Strawberry cremeux with Chocolate rocher Ice Cream from Yum Yum’s Ice Cream
Chocolate Stout (6% ABV)
One semi-sweet chocolate beer to finish the night and enhance this masterpiece from Chef Michael!
