Denver Beer Co. Selects Denver Mountain Parks Foundation as 2017 Non-Profit Partner

March 21, 2017

Colorado-based non-profit to be beneficiary of Denver Beer Co.’s community outreach and charitable giving for 2017

Denver, Colo. (March 21, 2017) – Denver Beer Co. today announced that it has selected Denver Mountain Parks Foundation as the brewery’s official non-profit partner for 2017. In its second year, Denver Beer Co.’s charitable giving program is a formal and exclusive partnership with a Colorado-based non-profit organization designed to make a significant impact for that organization over the course of a year. Denver Mountain Parks Foundation was selected from a pool of over forty applicants to be Denver Beer Co.’s official non-profit partner for a twelve month term.

Denver Mountain Parks Foundation’s mission is to restore the historical integrity, relevance, quality and appreciation for the Denver Mountain Parks system; to advocate for it and ensure its future as a recreational, educational and open space resource for the City of Denver, its citizens, neighbors, children and visitors. Encompassing over 22 square miles and 71% of Denver’s total parks and open space, the Denver Mountain Parks include 22 accessible parks and 24 conservation areas including Genesee Mountain Park, Red Rocks Park, Chief Hosa, Winter Park, Summit Lake, and Lookout Mountain among others.

“We selected Denver Mountain Parks Foundation as our non-profit partner this year because we will be able to make a significant impact in this organization’s quest to preserve and promote these unique and underappreciated places,” stated Denver Beer Co. co-founder Patrick Crawford. “The Denver Mountain Parks are an amazing resource, but are largely underfunded and lacking awareness in the community. At Denver Beer Co. we believe life is fun and that every day should include a little adventure and fresh air. We are thrilled to support an organization that advocates, supports, and preserves our community’s open spaces.”

Denver Beer Co.’s non-profit partner program, which is open to any tax-exempt non-profit organization headquartered in the state of Colorado, was created to make a significant impact in the community through joint fundraising efforts, public awareness, and service. In 2016, during the first year of the program, Denver Beer Co. selected First Descents as its non-profit partner. Over the course of the 12 month partnership, Denver Beer Co. donated over $10,000 in cash and in-kind donations to the non-profit which offers young adult cancer survivors and fighters a free outdoor wilderness experience.

Through the 12-month term of the partnership with Denver Mountain Parks Foundation, Denver Beer Co. will donate proceeds from two major festivals including the GABF Collaboration Celebration and Summer Shindig, provide free event space for Denver Mountain Park Foundation’s fundraisers or celebrations, brew and package a limited-release 22 oz. bomber with a custom label for the organization, donate beer to fundraisers, events, and galas, provide volunteers, and promote the organization through various publicity campaigns throughout the year.

“It is an honor and a privilege to partner with Denver Beer Co.,” stated Denver Mountain Parks Foundation’s Executive Director Bart Berger. “Considering that the Denver Mountain Parks System was literally crafted to bring “refreshment” to the people of Denver, it is truly appropriate for us to join forces with Denver’s preeminent craft brewery which is doing exactly the same thing!”

Each year Denver Beer Co. will open the application process to all Colorado-based non-profit organizations to become a non-profit partner for the following calendar year. Denver Beer Co was founded in 2011 and has two breweries including a taproom and beergarden on Platte Street in downtown Denver, and a production brewery, Canworks, in Denver’s Sunnyside neighborhood which focuses primarily on the brewing, canning, and bottling of beer for distribution. Denver Beer Co. plans to open a third location in Olde Town Arvada in the spring of 2017. For more information, visit www.denverbeerco.com.
