Colorado-based non-profit to be beneficiary of Denver Beer Co.’s community outreach and charitable giving for 2019

Denver, Colo. (April 2, 2019) – Denver Beer Co. today announced that it has selected Casting for Recovery Colorado as the brewery’s official non-profit partner for 2019. In its fourth year, Denver Beer Co.’s charitable giving program is a formal and exclusive partnership with a Colorado-based non-profit organization designed to make a significant impact for that organization over the course of a year. Casting for Recovery Colorado was selected from a pool of more than thirty applicants to be Denver Beer Co.’s official non-profit partner for a twelve month term.  

Casting for Recovery (CfR) provides healing outdoor retreats for women with breast cancer, at no cost to the participants. CfR’s retreats offer opportunities for women to find inspiration, discover renewed energy for life, and experience healing connections with other women and nature. The retreats are open to women with breast cancer of all ages, in all stages of treatment and recovery. CfR is dedicated to innovating in order to better serve the diverse community of women with breast cancer. This year CfR Colorado will host five fly fishing retreats for women with breast cancer including three retreats on the front range, one on the western slope, and one in Colorado Springs serving over sixty women and offered free of charge to each participant.

“We selected CfR as our non-profit partner this year because of their impressive mission to help women with breast cancer find inspiration, healing, community, and connection to the great outdoors through free fly fishing retreats” stated Denver Beer Co. co-founder Charlie Berger. “Many of us in the Denver Beer Co. family have loved ones with breast cancer, so CfR’s mission is one that we feel particular affinity towards. We look forward to supporting CfR throughout the year with the goal of sending more women on healing retreats through the program.”

Denver Beer Co.’s non-profit partner program, which is open to any tax-exempt non-profit organization headquartered in the state of Colorado, was created to make a significant impact in the community through joint fundraising efforts, public awareness campaigns, and service.  Since the inception of the program in 2016, Denver Beer Co. has raised more than $42,000 for charitable organizations. Past partners include First Descents , Denver Mountain Parks Foundation, and Environmental Learning for Kids.

Denver Beer Co was founded in 2011 and has three breweries including a taproom and brewery on Platte Street in downtown Denver, a taproom and brewery in Olde Town Arvada,  and a production brewery, Canworks, in Denver’s Sunnyside neighborhood which focuses primarily on the brewing, canning, and bottling of beer for distribution.
