Brewery proudly supported Casting for Recovery, Colorado Chapter of the American Cancer Society, and The Trevor Project.
Denver, Colo. (January 13, 2020) – Denver Beer Co. today announced it has donated more than $48,000 to non-profit community partners as a culmination of 2019 charitable giving campaigns. Throughout the year, Denver Beer Co. organized two major campaigns including the #DrinkPink campaign benefitting the Colorado chapter of the American Cancer Society, the Denver Beer Co. nonprofit partner program benefitting Casting for Recovery, as well as several other smaller initiatives to benefit The Trevor Project and the GLBTQ community during Pride Month, and the Bailey Hundo. In addition, Denver Beer Co.’s sister brewery, Cerveceria Colorado, made significant donations to various Denver and Colorado-based charities through its Cervezas for Causes program.
In 2019, Denver Beer Co. brought back the #DrinkPink campaign for its third year to raise funds for breast cancer research in Colorado. During the month of October, Denver Beer Co. and its distributor, Breakthru Beverage, each donated 5% of every sale of Princess Yum Yum cans, pints, kegs and swag to the fight against breast cancer. In addition, Denver Beer Co. suppliers Oregon Fruit and GPI, donated more than $6000 in raw materials whose cost savings were then passed along as part of the donation. The combined 10% of sales revenue resulted in an $18,000 donation to the American Cancer Society who will allocate the funds towards breast cancer research in Colorado. The 2019 #DrinkPink campaign showed 38% growth over 2018.
In addition, Denver Beer Co. hosted a non-profit partner program for the fourth consecutive year. The nonprofit partner program is a formal and exclusive partnership with a Colorado-based non-profit organization designed to make a significant impact for that organization over the course of a year. Casting for Recovery was selected from a pool of over thirty applicants to be Denver Beer Co.’s official non-profit partner for 2019.
Denver Beer Co.’s sister brewery, Cerveceria Colorado, also gave back to various organizations in Denver and Colorado through its own charitable giving program “Cervezas for Causes.” Nearly every week since the brewery opened in May, 2018, Cerveceria Colorado has hosted a Thursday night happy hour to benefit various charitable organizations. A portion of proceeds from each event were donated to the select weekly cause for a total of $9,892 donated to local organizations over the course of the 2019 and nearly $18,000 in cumulative donations since the brewery first opened.
“We believe it is vitally important for local businesses to give back to the people and communities where we live,” stated co-founder Charlie Berger. “We are especially proud of the growth of our #DrinkPink program. We want to send a big heartfelt thank you to our customers for their support of our charity partners and programming. This is another way we showing that we are committed to Colorado”
