ASSISTANT MANAGER – Denver Beer Company, S. Downing Taproom 

Do you love craft beer and working with a supportive, kick-ass team? Is hospitality your love language? Do your friends and family call you “coach”? We’re looking for someone with a passion for the industry, a strong work ethic, and the ability to run a great shift and successfully coach a team. You’ll be responsible for slinging our award winning beer alongside our damn good food at the South Downing Street Taproom in the Rosedale neighborhood of Denver. In addition, essential duties are giving daily direction and coaching the beertenders, end of day and cash handling processes, supporting the general manager, making decisions for daily operation of the business, maintaining all aspects of the taproom facilities, and guest service, all while living, teaching and training the Company Standards. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Full Time
  • Must Have: Hospitality gene
  • 1-2 years of supervisory/management experience in a brewpub or restaurant environment
  • 2-3 years of restaurant, taproom, brewery, or brewpub service experience 
  • Punctual, positive attitude, patient, great work ethic, hustle, team player, and natural leader
  • Nice to Have: Beer geekiness
  • Stamina to be on your feet for up to 8 hours and lift some really heavy stuff up to 50 Lbs
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Run quality shifts:
    • Provide the highest level of customer service with all guests – creating a Denver Beer Co community of ‘super fans’
    • Dispense knowledge about beer, styles, pouring techniques, glass cleaning, brewing processes, and all things beer related to both guests and team members
    • Maintain and coach team members on responsible alcohol service for all guests to maintain a comfortable, safe, and fun environment
  • Support the General Manager with additional tasks related to business operation
  • Perform designated tasks as directed by your manager
  • Achieve Company objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance of facility, and cleanliness through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environment.
  • Educate, engage, promote, and help execute internal and external special events 
  • Control financial and administrative reconciliation procedures in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all products and orders are received, accurate pricing and in correct unit count and condition.
  • Schedule labor as required by anticipated business activity while ensuring that all positions are staffed when and as needed and labor cost objectives are met.
  • Be knowledgeable and accountable to all Company policies regarding personnel and administer prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules and procedures.
