Congrats #DBC Explorers! And the winner of “Free Beer for a Year” is…

October 12, 2015

What a summer!  The #DBCExplorer Challenge has officially come to a close after participants had from Memorial Day to Labor Day to visit 24 secret locations across Colorado. Each can of Incredible Pedal, Graham Cracker Porter, and Princess YumYum Raspberry Kolsch is marked with a GPS coordinate for a location in Colorado for a total of 36 different coordinates and unique locations.  Participants in the DBC Explorer challenge were required to visit twenty-four of the thrity-six locations and take a photo in each spot before the Labor Day deadline in order to be eligible for the Grand Prize – free Denver Beer Co. beer for one year.  Not an easy challenge!  Many brave souls traveled to  the secret locations across Colorado and we rewarded their hard work with an evening of good food, good beer, and story swapping.

The #DBCExplorer finishers’ party took place on Thursday, October 1 with an amazing array of dishes from Euclid Hall which were paired perfectly with the beers our explorers enjoyed all summer long, including a standout Porchetta (Pork tenderloin wrapped in pork belly, underneath a bacon quilt, roasted to perfection and paired with our very own Graham Cracker Porter).

Finishers received their very own superlative, as well as a personalized, engraved #DBCExplorer exclusive Yeti “Coaster”, to keep those cans cold on their next adventure! As a special treat, an incredibly detailed Hey! Pumpkin cake was provided by Kim & Jake’s Cakes in Boulder to pair perfectly with its namesake beer! image3

Finally, the big moment arrived as finishers eagerly awaited a winning name to be pulled by Denver Beer Co co-founder Patrick Crawford. As the drumroll faded, the winning #DBCExplorer was chosen, and Denver’s Matthew Forrest took home the grand-prize of free beer for a year! Matt, along with his girlfriend Christina, completed the ultimate DBC Explorer test with the #36HourChallenge and proved that their dedication to the spirit of adventure paid off! As we enjoyed celebratory pints after the big reveal, Matt informed us that he and Christina had their very first date at Denver Beer Co, surely proving it was a match that was meant to be.

Congratulations to all those who finished the #DBCExplorer Challenge, and a huge thank you to all those who participated this summer! Until next year, keep adventuring!
